Golden Bun is conveniently located in downtown Santa Rosa and offers Vietnamese fare from family recipes including pho, banh mi, ramen, spring rolls, and an assortment of beverages.

I took their preexisting logo (which I love) and created a menu that is cohesive with their aesthetic. I took some photos to add to those they already had.

We’re working together to create menu boards and inside graphics in an effort roll out an updated Golden Bun in 2020.

Aces New Year's Eve Poster

Local Barrel has rung in the new year with the Aces three years in a row. This year’s festivities will also feature bellydancers, catering, and a champagne toast at midnight.

I felt it appropriate to create posters and tickets in the style of playing cards.

Another great show at my local watering hole. It sure helps to have quality images to work with. By blacking out the background, I was able to simplify the image to focus on the guitar and guitar player. I also sampled some of the gold from the band logo for the simple informational bar across the bottom.

The Inescapable Accretion of Less

By Russ Messing

A collection haiku written daily over the span of the year 2000 and selected poetry. Russ’ writing is personable, relatable, and often humorous. This is the third book I’ve worked on with Russ. Each features artwork by a different family member.

To go along with the theme of haiku, I selected the brushlike typeface Hiroshige, named after the legendary ukiyo-e artist. Also, the tittles (dots on the lowercase i’s and j’s) are diamond-shaped echoing the form of the cover artwork.

The Aces are a local rockabilly band that has been around the area for many years. This is a fun project for me because I can research retro styles and typefaces. It’s also nice to have a great image to work with. I added some cobwebs, a spider, and a spooky green color on some decrepit old paper. I had the idea of creating the graphics in the shape of a coffin.
